Common NBN Installation Issues: Delays and Lack of Connection

Many customers experience delays or issues with their NBN connection due to incomplete or improperly located cabling. Scholz Electrical steps in to bridge these gaps. Our licensed cablers can assess your site and prepare it for the most efficient NBN box installation, aiming for an instant internet and phone service connection upon NBN setup.

Common Problems with the NBN we can fix

• Old service turned off before NBN connection was ready
• When moving to NBN, your phone number won’t carry over

• The speed of the new NBN plan is not as fast as the speed of the old service
• Telecom did not advertise for NBN speed limits

Preparing for Your NBN Technician Appointment

In the case of a rental property, the consent of the landlord or corporation is required for installation.
Then, it is recommended to determine the location of the NBN device. The recommended places for the NBN devices connected at home:

• Near a power point
• In a cool, dry, well-ventilated area that can be easily identified
• Centrally located to get the best WiFi signal

In some instances, an NBN technician may need access to your facility and you or someone over the age of 18 must be there for the entire duration of your booking (this may affect the technician’s arrival window).

If the customer is not on-site, the on-site person must be able to make service installation decisions on the customer’s behalf.

Notes:

• If you have back-to-base alarms or medical equipment on-premises, you need to register your device with NBN.
• A power source must be within 1.5m of the modem for the phone and internet to work through NBN. If you don’t have a power point where you want to install the NBN connection, we can assist you to install one.
